Roger Goodell has gotten a large amount of criticism for his original decision to suspend former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice for just 2 games. Once a video showing what happened inside the elevator when Ray Rice punched and knocked out his current wife Janay went public, Roger Goodell quickly suspended Ray Rice indefinitely. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell dropped the hammer on the New Orleans Saints today punishing them severely for their involvement in the bounty scandal known as Bountygate. The punishment was severe. Saints head coach Sean Payton was suspended for a year without pay. Saints general manager Mickey Loomis was banned for the first eight regular-season games next season. the biggest story in the NFL right now involves Gregg Williams for setting up a bounty system while with the New Orleans Saints. It is reported that players and coaches pooled a little extra cash every week to pay a bounty on big hits on opposing players on the other teams.
