Roger Goodell Drops Hammer on New Orleans Saints

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell dropped the hammer on the New Orleans Saints today punishing them severely for their involvement in the bounty scandal known as Bountygate. The punishment was severe. Saints head coach Sean Payton was suspended for a year without pay. Saints general manager Mickey Loomis was banned for the first eight regular-season games next season. The team’s former defensive coordinator, Gregg Williams , was indefinitely banned. Goodell also fined the Saints a half million dollars and took away their second-round draft pick this year and in 2013. Roger Goodell sent a clear message that that this type of

Randy Moss is Back!

Randy Moss will go down in history as one of the best wide receivers ever to enter the NFL. Many people wonder how much of a factor he can be at age 35 however. We will get our chance to find out in the 2012 season since Randy Moss has just inked a one year contract deal with the San Francisco 49ers. Randy Moss is currently tied for 2nd for the most touchdown receptions in NFL history with 153. In his prime, Moss was pretty much unstoppable at the wide receiver position. The San Francisco 49ers obviously believe that Moss

Redskins Make Major Move to Draft Robert Griffin III

The Washington Redskins have made a major move to draft quarterback Robert Griffin III. The Redskins will give up three first-round picks (in 2012, 2013 and 2014) and this year’s second-rounder to the St. Louis Rams in a trade that will allow them to pick Robert Griffin III in the 2012 NFL Draft. It is obvious that the Washington Redskins have been desperate to fix their problems at the quarterback position. They made big news a couple of seasons ago when the Donovan McNabb trade did not work out for them. The Redskins made a gutsy move giving up so

the biggest story in the NFL right now involves Gregg Williams for setting up a bounty system while with the New Orleans Saints. It is reported that players and coaches pooled a little extra cash every week to pay a bounty on big hits on opposing players on the other teams. This bounty scandal is currently under investigation and it is expected that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell will come down with some punishment for those involved soon. The More Balanced Team Wins Superbowl

Tom Brady will probably go down in history as one of the best quarterbacks of all time, but the New England Patriots defense was ranked last in the NFL during the regular season. The New York Giants had a more balanced attack which gave them the upperhand in Superbowl XLVI. Superbowl XLVI turned out to be a relatively close game however. The Patriots made a gutsy call on defense to allow the Giants to score a TD quickly before they could run out the clock giving the Giants a 21 to 17 lead. Tom Brady then had the task of

Superbowl XLVI Preview

Superbowl XLVI will be a rematch of Superbowl XLII between the New England Patriots and the New York Giants. The last time these two teams met in the Superbowl, the New Yorks Giants beat the New England Patriots 17 to 14. The Giants were able to keep the Patriots from having a perfect year as the Patriots were undefeated up to that point. Superbowl XLVI will feature the same two great quarterbacks Tom Brady and Eli Manning. The New York Giants have the more balanced team, but Tom Brady is known to play well when he has a chip on

AFC Championship Game Preview

AFC Championship Game Preview

The Patriots vs Ravens game will feature the 2 top AFC teams with the best records in the conference. The New England Patriots are know this year for having a great offense and a bad defense. The Baltimore Ravens are known this year for having a great defense and a mediocre offense. I feel the AFC Championship will come down to the quarterback play of Tom Brady and Joe Flacco. Tom Brady had a record breaking day throwing 6 TD passes last week against the Denver Broncos. Joe Flacco stuggled against the Houston Texans last week but threw 2 TD

Only 4 Teams Left in Quest for Superbowl

So far 2 so called elite quarterbacks have been knocked out of the playoffs. Those 2 quarterbacks are Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers. The shocker has to be that Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers got eliminated in their first playoff game after going 15 and 1 for the season. Congrats to the four teams left in the quest for the Superbowl which include the Baltimore Ravens, New England Patriots, San Francisco 49ers, and the New York Giants. Share this…
